Our Club, Our Mission

OVC was founded in 2004 with the goal of bringing a new kind of energy to competitive youth soccer, where winning (the goal of competition) is not a goal in and of itself but the natural outcome of a combination of personal and athletic development.

Our mission is to develop the mental and physical skills and talent of our players to their highest possible level both as individuals and as teammates. The person always comes before the player.

Our highly skilled coaching staff teaches and trains through progressive methods with an emphasis on respect, discipline, community and fun. These values are encouraged both on and off the field. Through them we hope to cultivate a lifelong appreciation for soccer in every young player we encounter.

OVC also makes it a priority to share energy with other non-profit organizations where our skills and knowledge can be useful. We work with Sports for Exceptional Athletes, San Diego Parks and Recreation, AYSO and Yalla S.D.. Community building inside and outside the club is an important element of the club’s success.
